California In April

One of the best times to visit California is in the spring. The tourists have not hit, the kids are in school (well, except for Spring Break), and the winter rains have the hills awash with beautiful shades if green.

Hills around North County (Paso Robles),a baseball game at O.Com Coliseum. Wine tasting in Paso Robles. And a visit to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Through the "Looking 'Glass"

Some of the most beautiful sights are the store windows around Paris — especially at night. Colorful store windows POP with bright colors and the designs are spectacular. Here is a great blog on the subject "Fashion & Power"

Most of the photos were taken at  night, and with the special lighting like in this shop, the colors are extremely vivid.  All the above were hand-blown glass.

Montparnasse Tower: Eight blocks from our apartment and a neighborhood landmark. "The tower's simple architecture, large proportions and monolithic appearance have been often criticized for being out of place in Paris's urban landscape and, as a result, two years after its completion, the construction of skyscrapers in the city center was banned."  That said, the view from the top is spectacular. Even though the building may not be not revered by the locals, the Montparnasse area is wonderful.  We were again lucky to rent a great apartment nearby.
